The Partnership between L'OCCITANE & Orbis

For 16 Years

With a long history of corporate social responsibility, L'OCCITANE is committed to fighting avoidable blindness around the world. The company has supported Orbis for around 16 years, raising more than €1,600,000 (approx. S$2.5m) in funding to support eye health training programmes worldwide.  Orbis is a pioneer in the prevent & treatment of blindness for over 30 years and have worked in 92 countries. Their partnerships with local hospitals train physicians, nurses & technicians in impoverished countries to save sight & to leave a lasting legacy of eye care skills. 

The partnership with Orbis is part of L'OCCITANE Foundation’s global programme called 'Union for Vision', which aims to provide eye care services to more than 10 million people by 2020. Orbis also treat patients with eye diseases to preserve & restore sight in key countries like China, India, Indonesia & Vietnam.

L'OCCITANE's Commitment

During the long partnership, L'OCCITANE’s funding has supported Orbis programmes in Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, India and China. As an example, in China over 1.5 million people received eye care thanks to L'OCCITANE’s support for a programme to deliver village and school screenings, significantly contributing to the reduction of childhood blindness in Gansu province.
